Celebración de la santidad de M Bonifacia experiencia en PNG

 

CELEBRATION OF THE SAINTHOOD OF MOTHER BONIFACIA.... PNG EXPERIENCE

On the 30^th of October, the two Communities-Taller had their Thanksgiving Mass on a Sunday, simultaneously at St. Joseph’s Parish, Boroko and at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral, Alotau. The experience of the sisters in Port Moresby and Milne Bay unfolded how people can easily relate and deeply appreciate St. Bonifacia who exudes holiness in the ordinariness of her person and life.

El domingo 30 de octubre las dos comunidades-taller tuvieron su misa de Acción de Gracias simultáneamente en la parroquia san José de Boroko y en la catedral del Sagrado Corazónd e Jesús, en Alotau. La experiencia de las hermanas en Port Moresby y Milne Bay fue de cómo la gente podía relacionar fácilmente y apreciar profundamente a Santa Bonifacia que destilaba santidad en lo ordinario  y en su persona y vida.

In Alotau, on the 23^rd of October, the day of Mother Bonifacia’s canonization in Rome, the sisters were given a chance to share to the faithful who their Foundress is and her exemplary virtues and deeds that the Church recognized her sanctity. This prepared the people for the following Sunday’s Thanksgiving Mass. A number of youth and adult lay people were involved in the preparation. The graduation of the female youth participants in the trainers’ training program in sewing was integrated in the big event of introducing the newly canonized saint to the people of Milne Bay. So, the great day of rejoicing came and the Eucharistic celebration turned out to be solemn and meaningful. The statue of St. Bonifacia was processed to the altar by Mathias, a Diocesan maintenance worker, ushered by the youth with their traditional dance. At the start of the homily of Fr. Eugene, the presider and a priest of the Neocatechumenal way, he announced the procession of the relic of St. Bonifacia to the altar by Sr. Elizabeth, which was done in silence and with much respect. Then he further shared to the people the life history and faith journey of Mother Bonifacia, which was shared spontaneously and with much conviction. The female graduates of the sewing course at Talitha Koum Skills Training Centre demonstrated symbolically the passion of Mother Bonifacia for the education and formation of the youth. It did not end here. The relic of St. Bonifacia was venerated by the priests and the faithful after the celebration. Many stood in the line to show their acceptance and reverence to this new saint in the Church. Some started to implore her help and prayers. A joyful and familial reception followed at the Callan Services Hall within Talitha Koum Compound wherein priests, missionaries, Diocesan lay workers, youth, parents, overseas Filipino workers and friends were present. It was a combined celebration of the Canonization of St. Bonifacia and the graduation of the Youth Trainers in Sewing.

En Alotau el 23 de octubre, el día de la canonización de Bonifacia en Roma, las hermanas tuvieron la oportunidad de compartir con la gente como su fundadora es ejemplo de virtudes y hechos en los que la iglesia reconoció su santidad. Esto preparó a la gente para la misa de acción de gracias del domingo siguiente. Algunos jóvenes y adultos laicos se involucraron en la preparación. La graduación de las jóvenes participantes en el programa de capacitación de instructoras de costura se integró en el gran evento de dar a concoer la nueva santa entre la gente de Milne bay Y así, el gran día de gozo llegó y la Eucaristía fue solemne y significativa. La imagen de Santa Bonifacia llevada en procesión al altar por Mathias, un trabajador de mantenimiento y acompañada por los bailes tradicionales ejecutados por jóvenes. Al inicio de la homilía del P.. Eugene, que presidía y que es sacerdote del Camino Neocatecumenal, anunció la procesión de la reliquia de San Bonifacia al altar llevada por la Hermana Elizabeth, lo que se hizo en silencio y con mucho respeto. Las mujeres graduadas en el curso de  graduadas del curso de costura del centro Talitha Koum demostraron simbólicamente la pasión de la M. Bonifacia por la educación y la formación de las jóvenes. Esto no terminó aquí. La reliquia de Santa Bonifacia fue venerada por los sacerdotes y fieles después de la celebración. Muchos se pusieron en fila para aceptar y reverenciar a esta nueva santa. Otros comenzaron a implorar su ayuda y a orar. A la celebración siguió una alegre y familiar recepción en el Callan Services Hall dentro del complejo Talitha Koum donde sacerdotes, misioneros, trabajadores laicos de la diócesis, jóvenes, padres, trabajadores filipinos y amigos, estuvieron presentes. Fue una celebración que combinó la canonización de Santa Bonifacia y la graduación de las jóvenes maestras de costura.

CT-Korobosea in Port Moresby celebrated the Thanksgiving Mass at St. Joseph Parish, Boroko at 9:30 a.m. presided by the Apostolic Nuncio, His Excellency Francisco Padilla, D.D. The Archbishop of Port Moresby, His Grace  John Ribat, MSC, DD, MBE, Fr. Raffy, SDB, Delegate of the Salesian Fathers in PNG,  Fr. Emmanuel, the Secretary to the Apostolic Nuncio,  and Fr. John, C.P., the Assistant Parish Priest of St. Joseph Parish joined in the celebration. In her introduction, Cecilia Teliwa, a lay Josephine, focused on the humility, simplicity, hidden life and charity of Bonifacia, a Saint for the Poor Working World.  This was reiterated in the homily of the Nuncio as he focused on the charity and simplicity of Mother Bonifacia geared towards the promotion and evangelization of women through the Talleres de Nazaret. The unveiling of the statue of St. Bonifacia took place before the reading of the Word of God by the Nuncio and the Archbishop. The Sepik Choir gave life to the Liturgy through their singing and music. After communion, the statue was blessed by the two bishops after which the prayer to St. Bonifacia led by Sr. Elma with the assembly praying with her. This was followed by the veneration of the new saint by the people.  After the Eucharistic Celebration, the sisters offered a simple snack, which was prepared by their collaborators, to the invited guests at the Church grounds. In their house, there was a simple lunch with the Bishops, priests, missionaries, Lay Josephines and other friends.

La Comunidad-Taller de Korobosea en Port Moresby celebró la Misa de Acción de Gracias en la parroquia de san José de Boroko a las 9,30, presidida por el nucio apostólico, su excelencia Francisco Padilla, D.D. el arzobispo de Por Moresby, su excelencia John Ribat, MSC, DD, MBE, P. Raffy delegado de los padres salesianos en PNG, P. Emmanuel, sacerdote asistente de la parroquia de san José se unieron a la celebración. En su introducción Cecilia Teliwa, laica josefina, se centro en la humildad, simplicidad, la vida oculta y la caridad de Bonifacia, una santa para los pobres del mundo del trabajo. Esto fue reiterado por el nuncio en su homilía que se centró en la caridad y simplicidad de M. Bonifacia  orientada hacia la promoción y evangelización de las mujeres a través de los talleres de Nazaret. El descubrimiento de la estatua de tuvo lugar antes de la lectura de la palabra de Dios por el nuncio y el arzobispo. El coro Spik animó la liturgia con sus cantos y música. Después de la comunión la estatua fue bendecía por los dos obispos, después la asamblea, dirigida por Elma ssj, hizo una oración a Bonifacia. A continuación la nueva anta fue venerada por la gente. Después de la celebración eucarística las hermanas ofrecieron un sencillo aperitivo que había sido preparado por sus colaboradoras, para los invitados en el recinto de la iglesia. En su casa ellas hicieron una sencilla comida con los obispos, sacerdotes, misioneros, laicas josefinas  y otros amigos

In both celebrations, the Bonifacia song, which was composed by Sr. Yolanda, resounded in the Church as it was sung with joy and gusto by the people. More so, the joyful spirit of sharing and simplicity which were lived by our Beloved Mother Bonifacia vibrated in these simultaneous events.

En ambas celebraciones, la canción de Bonifacia compuesta por Yolanda,ssj, resonó en la iglesia, pues fue cantado con alegría y entusiasmo por la gente. . Más aún, el espíritu alegre de compartir y de sencillez que se vivieron por nuestra Amada Madre Bonifacia vibró en estos eventos simultáneos.

With her, there was deep  gratitude to God and union with all the Siervas  de San Jose the world over,  in order to proclaim to the whole world that St. Bonifacia is a Real Treasure, a Gift of God to the Church- a Saint for the World of Work!

Junto a ella, había una profunda gratitud a Dios y unión con todas las Siervas de San José en todo el mundo, para proclamar al mundo entero que Santa Bonifacia es un verdadero tesoro, un regalo de Dios a la Iglesia-una santapara el mundo del trabajo!
